How to use the text effectively

There are some issues about the text, that is the content is largely on the one side of
dialogue. As compared with the text some time ago, we can clearly see some changes
about those matters. Seeing the content of the text used in our city, there are lots of
dialogue sections as if the editors want students to notice the target form.
So we might feel that the content is placed intentionally to introduce the grammatical
matters. I sometimes feel so too.


Some demerits thought
We just translate the sentences and make it finish.
We tend to teach as the order of the text; Grammar syllabus teaching.
The expression is somewhat unnatural use.


SO...It's quite said the important thing is not to teach the text but to teach through
it. So when we do that, we have to have in mind some points.


Merits to use the text
The sentences are good model sentences for students; few students can make up
the sentences like the text. Those sentences should be the fundamentals for students
to create further more expressions spreading their own ideas.


If we make those much more localize for stundets, they feel those are more sentences
they can use. Once they think so, it might promote the cognitive process into
interlanguage one step further through the practice.


The text will make students notice the gap between what students make and the models
show. If we do the activity such like that, the activity will be focus on form for
students. I am trying this way before confirming the contents these days.
